if you're a Twilight fan, i'm sure you know Ashley Greene. since i'm not - i don't.

what i do know is that she makes the denim-on-denim trend super easy to recreate.
this once frowned upon combo is no longer considered a fashion faux pas. if done right.
i'd originally found another celeb inspired photo very similar to my outfit, but it's lost among the organized chaos of my amateur style blogging. oh well. the show must go on...
to keep the look fresh, O Magazine's first tip was to steer clear of matchy-matchy. next it said to avoid overly casual styles.
done and done.
since i don't own lots of denim in the first place, finding the right jeans was challenging. i started with a light wash pair, then moved to black, and finally settled on these found on clearance at Aeropostale a few years ago. the top is a recent thrift store steal.
there's nothing casual about the long layered necklaces and studded clutch. while Ashley looks to be enjoying a day of shopping in her outfit, mine is more suited for night time mingling and happy hour fun. i'm so not the girl who heads out to the mall wearing something like this.
Austin Fashion Week kicks off next month and if i need a chic mixer ensemble, this will definitely be it.
does the thought of wearing denim on denim scare you?!

Loving the double denim, lady! I love your sleeveless top. Denim on denim doesn't scare me, I find myself gravitating towards it. It is a easy and comfortable look.
