central Texas weather just doesn't give. it's the first of September and still hotter than fish grease!
i'm ready for warm days and cool nights. is that asking for too much?! until then, i guess me and everybody else who calls this place home will continue to wipe the sweat off our brows and keep it moving.
since i'm just a lil' ol' style blogger and not a high-dollar fashion model, i've taken the liberty of not going outside to take pictures. at some point i might invest in lighting equipment to be able to take decent indoor photos, but that ain't happening anytime soon.
as such, i gotta make do with what i got.

and what i got right now is three different looks created from one long black maxi
isn't it amazing how taking one thing off and putting something else on can completely transform the simplest of pieces?
this $7.99 dress has been out and about quite a bit this season. so much so that i can't wear it anymore until i get the elastic top part tightened up and/or taken in. i'm certain it's from being stretched and not at all due to upper back-fat shrinkage.
the first ensemble was under $30. the middle outfit cost the most because of my flats. they're from Kohl's, on sale for $26.99...bought in 2007. the one on the right with the colorful belt is from the Redbook challenge.
it won't take much effort to transition this dress right into fall. whenever that comes.
i'm already thinking about different ways i can wear it. one of which would involve shoes with laces...something that would definitely take me outside my comfort zone.
so tell me. how do you make the most of what's in your wardrobe?!

When I buy things I try to make sure it can at least be worn for two seasons. I try to buy versatile fabrics so they transition easily.
ReplyDeletedefinitely. i have a few pieces that are specific to a season, but that's about it.
DeleteI get my money's worth out of an outfit too. I try to do 2-3 seasons.
ReplyDeletei mean - doesn't everybody?! :)
